De-thatching is a turf renovation process that is necessary due to reduce and eliminate thatch build-up. Thatch is a collection of dead grass, leaves, stems and roots that become compacted at the base of the grass plant. Once this layer exceeds 3/4”, it becomes difficult for water, oxygen and nutrients to penetrate the soil and reach the turf roots where it’s needed. Excessive thatch also creates an ideal environment for disease and insects. It can also force the grass roots closer to the soil making them much more vulnerable.  Our mechanical removal of the thatch mat can do wonders for your lawn. And if it won’t be beneficial; we’ll tell you.
